MunichPorto

Alpine passes on day one, down through the south of France to the Mediterranean. West along the Cantabrian coast — cliffs, green hills, ocean the whole way, and roads built for driving. Into northern Portugal where the tarmac narrows and the scenery doesn't stop. Rest day in Porto on the Douro. Then back east — open plains you can push through, Catalan coastline, Provence, and one last alpine pass to finish it off.

02 · The Concept

Munich to Porto.
And back.

Two modded MX-5s, Munich to the Algerian Sahara, February 2022. No support crew. Since then: Sicily, Morocco, Corsica — fixing cars in hotel parking lots, towing each other with ropes for 10 hours after a transmission exploded mid-Sahara.

Munich to Porto and back — Alps, southern France, Pyrenees, Iberia, home along the Côte d'Azur. Nine days, seven countries.

Timed sections on some of it. The rest is coastal cliffs along northern Spain, dry plains across the Spanish meseta, narrow mountain roads through northern Portugal where the asphalt gives up halfway. No support crew, no backup plan — just the group pushing the pace, trying to make it to the next hotel before dark.

04 · The Rallye

The
Rallye.

Your car should be built for this. Tarmac rally street spec — fog lights, light bar, cooling setup for 40°C in Spain, skidplate recommended. Spare tire, tools, fluids, tow rope, mudflaps against rock chips. PPF where it matters.

Comms: Albrecht CB radio with a proper antenna so the group stays connected on mountain roads where phones don't work.

Bring a co-driver. Navigation, driving shifts, morale. You're a team.

  • 01

    Your car, prepped

Good tires, good brakes, proper suspension. Fog lights, light bar, skidplate, mudflaps, tow rope, spare tire, tools. Cooling upgrades for the heat. No support trucks — when something breaks, you fix it yourself.

  • 02

    Co-driver

Mandatory. Navigation, driving shifts, morale. Two people per car, no exceptions.

  • 03

    Patience & endurance

People get tired, problems occur. The struggle is what makes it worth it.

  • 04

    Good vibes

No egos, no drama. If someone breaks down, everyone stops. If someone needs a part, you share yours. We're in this together. Strangers on day one, close friends by day nine.

05 · Built, not bought

Your
hands.
Your car.

Every car on this rally has a story. Suspension swapped in a driveway, roll bar fitted in a parking garage, seats bolted in at 2 AM the night before departure. These aren't showroom cars — they're built by the people who drive them.

That's what NVRLT is. You know your car because you built it. And when something breaks on the road, you know how to fix it.

Algeria, 2025 — a flywheel bolt snapped at 7,000 RPM and cracked the transmission housing. 3 AM, middle of the desert, 600 km from the nearest replacement. We towed each other to Ghardaia, walked the streets with the flywheel under one arm until we found a garage that could help, and swapped the transmission on the spot. That's when you learn what your car can take — and what you can.

The damage — cracked transmission
The fix — garage in Ghardaia
